Poetics of Space

Poetry by Otilia Jones

Photography & Painting by Hannah-Clare de Gordun

In their work for Poetics of Space, Jones & de Gordun sought to explore where the realms of mysticism and botany intersect. Reflecting on philosopher Gaston Bachelard’s work of the same title, a study on daydreams and natural places of refuge; shells, nests, nooks… their meditations on his writings intend to create a space of intersection, giving them an opportunity to investigate the parallels, resonances, and tensions that arise when spiritual mysticism and botany coalesce.
